Let's enjoy some downtime with our bad selves! Make:NYC is hosting a Game Social Night for the DIY-minded to mingle with snacks and drinks provided. No glue or solder required! I promise. This is a great opportunity to get back into those discussions I keep interrupting at the Meetings.

Another great balsa battle for Meeting 14! We had a perfect turnout with lots of new faces.
Seven teams took the loose definition of the term "catapult" and sent marbles flying into our mighty Janga(R) tower!

In spite of the confusion from the late change of venue (which again was unavoidable and we apologize to anyone who didn't get the word), we had a very challenging and fun meeting 13!
Thanks to everyone who showed up in spite of the threat of rain, and for NYC Resistor for having a space in their hearts for us once again on such short notice.
The Thinga-ma-tar turned out to be a very ambitious project indeed. Instructions for the build will be posted very soon!

Surprise! Here's the next Make:NYC meeting!
Lab: Electric Stringed Instrument! (the FTC won't let us call them electric guitars)
Everyone gets a shot at assembling an electrified 3-stringed thing-a-ma-tar from scratch. Body, strings and a pre-amp circuit to piece together. I reckon we'll be a-rockin' soon after!
This lab costs money! A frightening $15 should be sacrificed per part set to appease the DIY gods.

Wow! I had so much fun at this meeting! Everyone did! We made a big mess of cardboard and glue building several dozen sailboats -- with wildy varying degrees of success.

What a crazy meeting! The mechanism:one was revealed to be a 10-second timer. Teams were asked to create timers from basic materials that rang a bell after a 10 second delay.
